White Rose : A Story of Kim Jinyeong and Kyoko Matsumoto

Episode 7-

“Jinja? The formal engagement day will be arranged sooner?” His parent just smile happily.
“Wah, sis-in-law really talented! I’m glad she can passed it, even when her look can be the model herself!” Jinsung get a pinch from his brother
Jinyeong looks at him devily. “Hey, brother. If you dare to like her, you know what will I do to you, right?”
“I-don’t-care!!” Jinsung laughs. “Argh!! It’s hurt Hyung!!” Jinyeong pinches him more.

Kyoko smiles so brightly this noon. She already stands since 15 minutes ago. She can’t wait more because they’ll have a costume fitting for the engagement day. But cluelessly Jinyeong didn’t come up yet. She sits, and stands, and walks around then sits again. Then she decides to stand again. Til the school’s getting almost no one.
All of a sudden, some beggars come up and try to flirt Kyoko. They’re surrounding Kyoko, one of them catch Kyoko’s bag. Kyoko seemed really frightened. She wished somebody come up and help her. But there seemed no one will.
Louis has just finish his last practicum in Science Club activity. He packs her backpack and get out from laboratory quickly. “It’s almost match time. Crap!!” He’s going to slap her head but seeing a student being bullied by beggars, he won’t. He keeps hiding for making strategy. He comes to the crowd and try to punch them one by one. One man which holds Kyoko tightly, being punch by him at the back. He fights them and take Kyoko’s bag with a great smile. But..
“BUGH.”
One of the beggars hit him from backside and made him fell down. The other two beggars kick him while the rest of them take their bikes. Louis get much hurts and bleeding. He’s trying to get up when the beggars come to their friends on bikes. Since he could stand weakly, a beggars bike hit them instead. He fell and rolling on the ground til his body faces the pedestrian. All the things getting dark around him and blackout.

“Craack!”
A doctor and some nurses come out from the surgery room. Kyoko and Jinyeong get up and asks the doctor quickly about Louis condition.
“Are you his family?” said the doctor. Both of them shake heads. “It’s better if his family here. Because he lost much blood. And usually family’s blood-related is easy to adapt with patient’s body. So when they will come?”
“Mm, He only has dad. And he’s working now. Usually he comes home about 9 pm. Isn’t it too long if we’re waiting? Can it be replace, doc?” Kyoko said carefully.
The doctor thinks a while said, “Ok. His blood type is AB+. Do you have one?”
Kyoko shakes her head again. But Jinyeong nods certainful. “I’m ready doc.”

Episode 5-
They come with two cars. Jinyeong as the driver in his parent’s car, with his little brother as co-pilot and his parent sit on the back. Behind them, Kyoko’s family car with her parent sit on the front. Today has a bright sun and good air flow. A beautiful morning to go.
They arrive at the botanical garden about 9 am. Kyoko gets off from the car and stands amazedly. Jinyeong who is helping his mom, watch her smoothly.
“Hyung!” called his brother. He faced surprised. “If you’re always looking at her, I can’t take the things inside!”
Jinyeong moves his body. “Sorry bro.”
“Okay, everyone. We’re ready to in!” Mr. Kim leads the group. He walks in front of all. Then he chooses the place under the trees near the lake. It’s a good place, you can see the birds on their nest in front. And in the right side is a path walk leading to other attractions. Then left side, you can see fishes in the lake and feed them.
Kyoko stands up when finished helping set the place. She asks Jinyeong to go with her, to show him something. Her dad feel worries, but his wife calm him and made them promised to back before lunch. And Jinyeong accept it.
Along the path, Kyoko talks about how the botanical garden was at past, It seems not really changed. She talks how her friends almost fall to the lake when they play jokes. And she talks about how amazed she was when first time seeing the tropical flowers bloom.
“And the most amazed me is the Maze Garden.” She said.
Jinyeong watch her seriously.
“When I looked at the location map, I really want to go there. So I took my friends with me. But after we arrived, my friends were doubt about how screamy and high it is. They were scared being lost. So then they took us somewhere else.” She sighs.
Jinyeong grab her hand. “With me, you will never lost. Wanna try?”
Kyoko smiles happy, “Yes!”
They are in the Maze Garden attraction now. The guide is telling them which way to enter and out. “We have an offered here too. It’s for a couple like you. If you enter in separate ways, then you can meet inside and come out together, we’ll give you present.”
“Wanna try this?” Jinyeong asks.
“Yes.”
Then they become separated by the guides. They begin enter the maze. Turns where their heart leads. Again and again, they meet a fork ways, and just listen to their heart. Wherever they walk, It’s just grass all they see.
It’s become dizzies.
Kyoko’s leg suddenly fatigue.
But it’s not far from the center of the maze, where you can sit in the fountain wall. So she afford it. Just to reach the fountain.
She hears Jinyeong shouted her name and tell her he has reached the center. “I’m a bit more!” she shouts back.
As she reaches the fountain, she receives a relieve and happy smile from Jinyeong. “You’re here.”
“Ah!” she grabs her legs. “It hurts.”
Jinyeong comes to her.
The guides who are waiting outside and the people who are waiting for turns feel a bit worry. Because they take a bit long. But it’s come to relief for them. Because in couple seconds, they feel impressed. Because the two of them comes out with Kyoko on his back! And they got applause from audience. The guides give them present, too. As they promised. A couple T-shirt and take a shot together.

-Episode 4
Day by day goes by and Jinyeong always drive Kyoko school and home and wherever she needs to go. As the time goes by, their relationship is getting closer. A chit chat from being friends isn’t strange anymore. But sometimes, her cheeks still burst when receive compliments from him.
And It’s been Friday in the 2nd week. Jinyeong asks Kyoko for a ‘Family Day Out’ for tomorrow. “It’s an order from my dad, actually.” He’s being honest.
“No problem, whether it’s your family or yourself who asks, I’d like to join. I love recreation. Where will we go?”
“Any idea?”
She quickly smiles and answers, “How about the botanical garden?”
“Hum, I think it’s good. We can breathe much fresh air there.”
“It’s not just trees, you know? It has a maze garden too. And it’s tall enough. About 1.75 meters height.” She looks very excited.
“Ok, I’ll tell my parents. O yeah. Please confirm your family too, okay?”
“Sure! I’ll be glad if we’re going there!” She opens the door as the car stopped. “See you!”
She’s walking to the classroom. And she greets everyone she knows and smile to them. Right before she enters the classroom, she looks her best friend, Louis, stands outside class. His face looked pale.
“Hey you! Your asthma gonna make you die, huh?” she laughs and he laughs back. Consider other people in his square. “What are you thinking about? Are you sick?” She puts her hand on Louis forehead.
Louis takes it off. “No. Don’t. Please don’t do this.” He smiles, “I’m fine. Ah, by the way…”
Rrrrrriiiiiiing….!!!
“Ah, it’s ringing. Let’s enter the class.” Said Louis then he stands up.
“But what is it you’re just talking?”
“I told you later, in the break-time.”
But a voice, which come right before the break, ordered him to go to Student Council room. Then, Louis texts Kyoko to apologize.
“No regrets. It’s your responsibility though, as a leader. ”
“Kyoko,” said Jinyeong when he takes her home. And she just turn her head, “They agree to go to the botanical garden. So, be ready at 7 o’clock. My family will come to your house. Eh..” he feels something touches his hand, it’s Kyoko’s hand. And she looks at him passionately.
“Really? I’m going there again? Ayy, thank you so much Jinyeong..!”

Episode 3-
Today, the sky is really clear. The wind blow up slowly. It brings smile to all people. The smile of happiness. Because morning is the beginning of all prays and hopes. And so for a Harvard University student named Jinyeong.
Now, he is on the way to Kyoko’s home. But other than watching the road, he look at the informer all the time. Ensure himself that his appearance is handsome enough. Then, he arrives at Kyoko’ house.
It’s a simple classic house. The colour is white and surrounded by green grass. A willow tree with little pond stands at the left side. All the windows are opened to get fresh air inside. “Hm, cute!”
“Hey!” a voice calling. “Are you gonna stand there a whole day?” Kyoko smiles.
Ah, she’s Kyoko. She looks different in uniform. “Ah, good morning Kyoko! I’m sorry. Have you waited so long?”
“Just a couple minutes. Okay then, let’s go!”
The school takes around 20 minutes from her house. So they do a lite chat to kill the time.
“By the way, I don’t see your parents at your home. Are they working together?” Jinyeong asks.
“No. Dad is working and he always go early. But my mom isn’t working. She’s just have something with bank this morning.” She looks at him. “How about you? Is your mom working, or a housewife as my mother?”
“My mom is a housewife like yours, but she does a small business. She makes some cookies and sells it in someone’s shop. Do you know korean traditional rice cakes?”
Shaking her head, she says, “What’s that?”
“It’s made of rice flour. It has various shapes. Someday I will ask mom to make it for you.”
Her eyes sparkling suddenly. “Really? It would be great! Arigatou gozaimasu!”
Jinyeong smiles, “Domu ipputa.”
“Ah, here we are. You can drop me at the corner.” Said Kyoko.
“Understood, your highness!” Jinyeong stops the car. “What time will you finish? So I can pick you up.”
Shaking her head, smiling and she’s saying, “No need. Think I will come home late, I’m going to study at my friend’s apartment.”
“Okay, then give me your cell phone. I’ll put my number in. So you can text me if you need something.” He enters his number and add it to her phonebook. “Here. Alright then, I’ll be going! Bye!”
She waves her hand as replies. Then she turns around and walks to class. But she doesn’t know, one of her friend is looking at her strangely.

Episode 2-
Kyoko and Jinyeong entered the ballroom. Then their appearance caught up by their fathers. “Ah.. here they are!!” said Jinyeong fathers. “Come here you guys!”
“What happened, Daddy?” Jinyeong looked at his father calmly. “Oh! Is this your bestfriend, Mr. Matsumoto? Which you always told me?”
“Ah, you’re really my son, Smart boy!” While was patting his son. “Let me introduce you, this is Mr. Matsumoto and his family. Takumi, this is my son, Kim Jinyeong, the one that I told you.”
They bow each other. “Nice to meet you, sir.” Jinyeong said.
“Nice to meet you too, boy.” Mr. Matsumoto looked at his daughter then said, “Hm.. may you and my daughter have known each other? We saw you both back from outside.”
He replied, “Ah, yes. Your daughter is really beautiful, sir. She’s like a goddess.”
Mr. Matsumoto smiled, “Then, would you watch her everyday?”
“What?” Kyoko and Jinyeong expressed surprised. “Are you sure, Dad?” Kyoko’s talking.
“Yeah, if you don’t mind, girl. It would be great if you two be friend, right? So you don’t need to go everywhere alone by yourself.” He smiled.
“But Dad, I’m okay! I accepted him as a friend, but …”
“So, It’s okay right?” He winked his eye. And Kyoko just can’t despite but accept it.
Mr. Matsumoto said, “So it’s decided!” then looked at Jinyeong, “It’s no problem with you, right Jinyeong?”
“Ah, no. I’m delighted to be a friend with your daughter, sir. It’s a great honor.” Smiling to his dad then to Kyoko, when she even fold down her face.
The fathers were laughing. “Okay, then let them make their times together since now. Don’t we, Mr. Kim?” replied with Mr. Kim’s nodding head.
“Ah, I almost forgot to tell you. Kyoko is still in High School. And she’s 2nd grade now.” Said Mr. Matsumoto proudly.
All of Kim family looked surprise. “Is that for real? Oh, girl. You looked really mature!” said Mr.Kim’s wife, and it made her cheeks going red. And it was really cute. “Really different with our Jinyeong. Although he’s in his 3rd semester now, he’s really ignorant and childish. Haha.”
“Mom, stop badmouth on me. Anyway, we must get home now. I have an appointment with my project team.” Gave his eyewink to his parents.
“Okay, okay. Mr. Matsumoto, please excuse us. We must go home right now. See you later,” he winked, “In-law!” he laughed.
Mr. Matsumoto smiled, “Yup, see you later too, in-law. Don’t forget to pick Kyoko up to school tomorrow, Jinyeong sonny!!” then winked to Kyoko.
The two of them agreed to be matched. And the date will begin in the next morning. What will happen on their first date?

Episode 1-
Jinyeong’s father and Kyoko’s father is a very bestfriend since their childhood and never ever meet again for over 10 years. One day, they had to attend a reunion of their High School. Jinyeong and Kyoko came too. But they both felt so bored then not join till very end. But they don’t even know each other.
They met at the ballroom’s garden when Kyoko was sitting there. Then Jinyeong smoked his cigarette that made Kyoko cough a little. Then he came to see her. But Kyoko’s cough seemed to be harsher. So Jinyeong threw the cigarette away and felt sorry to Kyoko. Kyoko’s cough became lower then it’s stopped. “I’m okay. Thanks.” She said.
“Why are you alone here?” Jinyeong asked her.
Kyoko’s turned her head. “No. It’s too full and crowded there. I’d like to have a silent place. So I came here. Even, the air is better here.”
“Yeah. Before I lit the cigarette, right?” he laughed. “I’m sorry, really. I don’t mean it.”
“I said it’s okay. Really.”
“Huh? But you coughed suddenly I lit the cigar. Are you really okay?”
“No problem. I often had this sensitive. I just had a bronchitis.” She smiled. “Ah, right. Then, why are you out here?”
“As you see, I’m smoking. It’s forbidden to smoke inside.” He smiled also. “Come to think of it, how a bronchy is ok? Huh, I don’t get your mind. By the way, what’s your name, lady?” he reach out his hand.
“I’m Kyoko Matsumoto. Nice to meet you.” While meant to shake his hand.
But Jinyeong pulled it and kissed it. “Nice to meet you too, Lady Kyoko. I’m Kim Jinyeong.” She was embarrassed. “So you’re Mr. Matsumoto’s daughter. My dad is your dad’s bestie. You know?”
“Ah, yeah. My dad even told me too. It’s coincidence, right?”
“Yeah. “ he looked at her smoothly. “Wah, ipputa! Jinja ipputa!”
Reply with her pretty smile, “what did you say?”
“Hm. Should I tell you?” He naughtily smile then laugh.
“Hmm.. okay then.” She got up. “I think I’m going in. Should we go together?”
“ I would like to, your highness.”
Without their knowing, their fathers are planning to match them together. Guess what they will react?
